He was very polite, friendly and respectful. Storage Center is a bunch of crooks. I have paid for 2 1/2 years without complaining about the rental of the storage unit going up more than once. I just cleared out my unit and asked if my rental would be prorated back to my account because I was moving out 21 days early. They told me that they do not prorate. I asked to see the contract that says that they do not prorate. They said that it is not in the contract and there is nothing I can do about it. The manager was called and he was rude saying “That’s not how life works. You can’t stay at a hotel for 6 days and only pay for 5”. That makes no sense and proves his stupidity because I’m not asking for more. I’m only asking to pay for what I used. They will now rent out the unit and collect double pay for the month. I will have a lawyer look into this and move forward with all legal advice. Note: This was the Kenner, LA location. The two people working there were kind and understanding of the facts that I stated. They had no authority to solve my problem.

We DO NOT recommend The Storage Center!! We rented a storage unit while the company was still Life Storage. We had no issues with Life Storage. Our initial rental fee was around $330, which was normal for a 10x30 climate controlled unit. After Storage Center took over, our fee went up to $427 with no notice. We understand business because we have a small business. The client might not always be right, but it’s ALWAYS about the client. Our monthly bill was due on Jan 23 and we moved out of the storage unit on Jan 27. We requested for a refund for the part of the month we didn’t use the unit, but after a runaround, they said they wouldn’t refund our money because we didn’t move out within their one two day window after the bill was due. However, we moved out four days after the bill was due. We were not expecting a full refund, only a partial. The Storage Center is not client centric, they are all about the money. Also, we found silverfish in our belongings.
